Product Based Companies in Kochi You Should Know About in 2026
Most conversations about Kochi's tech market focus on IT services delivery centres and GCCs — TCS, HCLTech, Cognizant, UST Global. These are real and significant employers. But alongside them, Kochi has produced a smaller, less talked-about layer of product companies building their own software and hardware, serving customers globally, and growing out of Kerala rather than relocating elsewhere.
This post covers six of them. Each is genuinely headquartered in Kochi, actively operating, and building a product rather than delivering services for clients.
SurveySparrow — Founded 2017
SurveySparrow is a customer and employee experience management platform that helps organisations collect, analyse, and act on feedback. Founded in October 2017 by Shihab Muhammed and formerly of Freshworks and Subin Sebastian formerly of Zoho, the platform was built around a conversational, mobile-first survey interface at a time when most competitors used traditional form-based designs.
Since then, SurveySparrow has expanded into NPS surveys, employee engagement tools, AI-powered analytics, and most recently SparrowDesk, an AI-first customer support platform launched in October 2025. The company is headquartered in Palo Alto with its engineering centre at Infopark Phase II, Kochi. As of May 2026, the company employs approximately 424 people. It has raised $1.4 million in seed funding from Prime Venture Partners and has operated largely bootstrapped since. Clients include FedEx, Deloitte Digital, SAP, and Siemens across 108 countries.
Why it qualifies: One of Kochi's most globally scaled SaaS products, with measurable revenue, a direct founding lineage to Freshworks and Zoho, and a product that has genuinely expanded beyond its original survey format.
Entri — Founded 2017
Entri is a vernacular language learning platform for competitive exam preparation and job skilling. Founded in 2017 by Mohammed Hisamuddin and Rahul Ramesh, the platform was built around the observation that most online learning content in India is in English, while a large share of job seekers are more comfortable learning in their native language.
The platform offers over 500 courses across eight languages Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, and Odia covering government job exam preparation, private sector skilling, and teacher training. Entri is headquartered in Kochi and has raised a total of $13.9 million across multiple rounds, including a $7 million Series A led by Omidyar Network India in February 2022. The company reports over 8 million registered users and more than 250,000 paid subscribers. In May 2026, Entri partnered with NeST Digital to launch internship pathways for learners.
Why it qualifies: $13.9 million raised, 8 million users, and a product built specifically for the vernacular-first learner, a market most edtech companies have not served well.
ZappyHire — Founded 2018
ZappyHire is an AI-powered recruitment automation platform that helps mid-size and large enterprises screen, engage, and hire candidates. Founded in 2018 by Deepu Xavier and Jyothis KS, both former Infosys employees the platform automates the manual parts of recruitment: resume parsing, interview scheduling, candidate engagement, and onboarding workflows.
ZappyHire is headquartered at Infopark Campus, Kochi. It has raised approximately $584K in total funding, including a seed round of ₹3.71 crore led by the Kerala Angel Network in November 2021, with participation from a co-founder of Freshservice and the chairman of Eastern Condiments. Clients include Federal Bank, Wuerth, NeST Digital, and Jiffy. The platform is used by over 17,800 recruiters globally across 50+ countries.
Why it qualifies: Genuinely Kochi-native with real global traction, 17,800+ recruiters across 50 countries is a meaningful scale for a bootstrapped-to-seed company.
EyeROV — Founded 2016–2017
EyeROV builds Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) and Unmanned Surface Vessels (USVs) for underwater inspection of dams, tunnels, pipelines, bridges, ports, and offshore infrastructure. Founded by Johns T. Mathai and Kannappa Palaniappan P, who met as engineering students at the College of Engineering, Trivandrum and later studied at IIT Delhi and IIT Madras respectively, EyeROV was set up in Kochi for its proximity to water bodies and relevant industrial clients.
The company has completed more than 150 projects for over 80 clients including ONGC, Adani, Maersk, Tata Power, NHPC, the Indian Navy, and DRDO. In September 2025, it secured a ₹47 crore contract from the Indian Navy for advanced underwater ROVs. EyeROV has raised approximately $3.44 million across six rounds per press coverage from Inc42, CXOToday, and CIOL, with investors including GAIL (India) Ltd, Unicorn India Ventures, and AWE Funds. The company currently employs more than 70 people.
Why it qualifies: Kochi's most internationally recognised deep tech company with a Navy contract, global clients, and a defence-grade product built entirely in Kerala.
iHub Robotics — Founded 2021
iHub Robotics builds humanoid and semi-humanoid robots for service environments hospitality, healthcare, airports, and railway stations. Founded in 2021 by Athil Krishna, Akhil K. Haridasan, and Sarath S., the company manufactures its robots at a facility in Kalamassery, Kochi, with most hardware components built in-house.
Their flagship product, Tara Gen-1, has been exported to the UAE and Saudi Arabia. In January 2025, iHub Robotics became the first Indian company officially recognised by NVIDIA and was selected for the NVIDIA Humanoid Robotics Programme. The company has also signed MoUs with EY Global and SAP Germany. According to a press release reported by Entrackr and Business Standard in March 2025, iHub Robotics raised ₹4.3 crore (approximately $520,000) in pre-seed funding from US investors to establish a humanoid robotics manufacturing facility in Kerala. The company also states it raised $20 million in October 2023, this figure is cited across multiple outlets but traces back to the company's own statement, with no named investor or independent financial filing confirming it publicly. The company reports producing approximately 300 humanoid robots per month at its Kalamassery facility.
Why it qualifies: The youngest company on this list, founded in 2021, with exports already active and the distinction of being India's first NVIDIA-recognised humanoid robotics company.
BestDoc — Founded 2016
BestDoc builds patient relationship management (PRM) software for hospitals and healthcare providers. Founded in 2016 by Afsal Salu, Fayaz Bin Abdu, and Soudabi Neduvanchery, the platform covers appointment scheduling, queue management, in-patient request management, feedback collection, and teleconsultation addressing the patient journey from pre-visit through post-discharge. Salu's previous startup, Delyver.com, was acquired by BigBasket in 2015.
BestDoc is headquartered in Kakkanad, Kochi, with an office in Dubai for its Middle East operations. It has raised approximately $2.65 million in total funding per YourStory and Inc42, including a Pre-Series A of $2.1 million led by Accel Partners and Arkam Ventures in September 2020. The company currently serves more than 250 hospitals across India and the Middle East, including Apollo Hospitals, KIMS Health, Aster MIMS, and Meitra Hospitals, and has processed over 4 million patient journeys.
Why it qualifies: A decade-old product company still operating and growing from Kochi, with a repeat founder, institutional backing from Accel, and a real footprint in the Middle East.
What This List Shows
Kochi's product company ecosystem is smaller than the city's overall tech employment. Most tech jobs here still sit inside IT services delivery centres and GCCs. This list is intentionally limited to companies that are genuinely headquartered in Kochi, actively operating, and building a product rather than delivering services for clients.
Several companies that appeared in initial research were excluded after verification either because their actual operations had moved to Bengaluru, their business model was closer to IT services, or because they had been acquired or shut down. Six is the honest number.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the product based companies in Kochi? Some of the notable product-based companies headquartered in Kochi include SurveySparrow (customer experience SaaS), Entri (vernacular edtech platform), ZappyHire (AI recruitment software), EyeROV (underwater robotics), iHub Robotics (humanoid robots), and BestDoc (healthtech SaaS). This list is not exhaustive — it covers verified, actively operating product companies with a genuine Kochi presence.
What is the difference between a product company and a service company in Kochi? A product company builds and sells its own software or hardware — the same product goes to many customers. A service company delivers custom work for individual clients. Most of Kochi's tech employment sits in IT services delivery centres and GCCs (Global Capability Centres) of larger companies. The companies listed in this post are on the product side — they own what they build.
Is Kochi a good city for software jobs in product companies? Kochi has a growing but relatively small product company ecosystem compared to Chennai or Bengaluru. For someone specifically looking for product roles, the options are more limited than in larger metro cities but the companies that do exist here (SurveySparrow, Entri, EyeROV) are genuinely global in their reach and offer meaningful technical ownership. The city also has a strong GCC and IT services base if product roles specifically are not a requirement.
Which Kochi startup has raised the most funding? Among the companies listed here, Entri has raised the most $13.9 million in total across seed and Series A rounds, per press releases from YourStory and Inc42. SurveySparrow raised $1.4 million in seed funding and has operated largely bootstrapped since, growing to 424 employees.
Are there robotics companies in Kochi? Yes, EyeROV (underwater inspection robots) and iHub Robotics (humanoid service robots) are both headquartered in Kochi and Kalamassery respectively. Both are active, internationally recognised, and hiring. For a deeper look at Kerala's robotics ecosystem more broadly, see our post on Robotics Startups in Kerala.
